Hi, I’m Makenzie!
I’m so grateful you’ve landed here.
Nutrition has long been a passion of mine and opening up my own nutrition practice has always been the dream.
I’ve been in the wellness space for a little over 6 years and have worn many different hats, all of which have supported me in my evolution. I’ve worked as a wellness marketing assistant & associate nutritionist for a holistic nutritionist, a wellness program coordinator at my local hospital designing wellness programs for employees & their spouses, and a social media manager for a functional medicine physician.
With an undergraduate degree in exercise science from Salem State University, I soon realized just how important nutrition is in our overall health. So, I decided to pursue my master’s in applied clinical nutrition through the Northeast College of Health Sciences to gain better insight into the delicate interplay both macro and micronutrients have in restoring and maintaining optimal health.
In building Harvest Health & Nutrition, I’m here to help you navigate the complexities of nutrition and make it simple so you can regain the health & vitality you deserve.
Nutrition Response Testing®
Nutrition Response Testing is a non-invasive form of applied kinesiology that takes a full body approach to analyzing the delicate, interconnected systems of the body that constitute health. This form of muscle testing helps to identify underlying causes of non-optimum health often driven by nutritional deficiencies and toxicities. With Nutrition Response Testing, we address the root of the health issue, not just the symptoms.
We live in an online world of 50 shades of nutrition! One minute a certain food group is deemed “good” for you and the next minute it’s suddenly “bad” for you. Navigating nutrition is confusing and quite frankly, overwhelming! At Harvest, we breakdown food myths & help you navigate which foods are best for you depending upon your season of life.
There is no single “best” diet. There is only what is best for you! At Harvest, we take bio-individual needs into account and honor the idea that no two individuals are alike. Even if you share the same health conditions & symptoms as someone else, your nutritional needs may differ to restore your health. That’s why you won’t find cookie cutter protocols here!
The goal of every therapeutic nutrition plan is to create conscious food awareness and meal autonomy. Meal plans can be helpful at times, but mostly create food fears and dependence. At Harvest, you’ll be given the tools and education you need to confidently build meals & snacks that support your body in every season of life without relying on meal plans.
